Makeup Mondays: ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette

Happy Monday loves! I hope you are all doing great and handing this crazy heat in Los Angeles!

I wanted to start a new Monday Series called Makeup Mondays, where I review makeup palettes, skincare and hair care!

This week, I’ll be going over ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette and I’m in love with Colour Pop at the moment. So many beautiful eye shadow palettes!

1st Row

Catch Me: a matte beige great for a base all over color

Side2Side: a Super Shock finish great for a sparkly top of an eye look. Super Shocks can be hard to work with sometimes. I would recommend put a little pressure in your finger and swipe the shadow on your eyes.

Garden Date: a metallic medium coral.

Work It: a matte bright orange.

2nd Row:

Prima Drama: a pressed gold glitter. I would recommend this to be applied away from your ducts! so preferably on the middle of the lid.

Meadow: a matte medium dark orange. I’ve been using this shade pretty much most of the time when I use this palette.

Early Morning: an orange gold pressed glitter.

Dream Maker: a matte dusty pink.

3rd Row: the more darker shades

ICYMI: a matte deep coppery-orange

Melody: a metallic light medium coral with gold shimmer specks.

West Side: a matte medium brown.

Feel Free: a matte medium dark red brown.

I feel like these 2 last shades would work great as a crease or outer V color.

I would give this palette a 10/10 to be honest! The shades are all diverse and work great together. The only con for me would be the glitters as there is quite a bit of fallout, but what glitters don’t?!

You can find Colour Pop on their website, or even at Ulta (with select products)

What did you think?! Would you try out ColourPop Pressed Powder Palettes?

June 2020 BabeBox Reveal

Happy Tuesdays love! I hope your week is starting off great!

Where do you usually go to find new subscription boxes? Well I found this BabeBox on an Instagram ad about a few weeks ago. So I figured, I would check it out!

They had a special promotion where your first box is free, and for an extra $10 you also get 2 mystery products. Not bad, right?

What is the BabeBox?

For $29.00, you get 4-6 full size makeup, personal care, and skincare products once a month. All of the items you receive with your BabeBox are 100% cruelty-free.

Avant Skincare – Rose Beautifying Face Exfoliant $114

This is a Rose and Papaya facial exfoliant which lessens redness, skin irritation and appearance of wrinkles. Vitamin B5 also helps with moist retention.

Did you know that papaya is a great ingredient to remove dead skin and can decrease inflammation?

As with other skincare products, the expiration date is 12 months.

Steve Laurant Lip Oil in “Orchid” – $20

When I first saw this, I really thought it was just a night time kind of lip product but boy was I wrong?!

This oil is designed to soften your lips and prevent sun damage which is a great plus since we are getting into summer season.

I personally am not a big fan of gloss, but occasionally I do use this on top of my matte lipstick just to get that moisture in. I use it more often at night as a lip night treatment.

Lord & Berry Ultimate Lip Liner #3042 Rusty – $14

This is the original Lord & Berry lip pencil and it’s their signature lip liner! It’s a comfortable and easy to use because of the round-shaped barrel. LXB is used to soften and protect the skin.

Rusty is a light nude shade that can easily work with the wide range of skin shades.

(sorry for not posting a full picture as somebody bit it aka Mocha the new puppy! >_<)

It expires in 36 months.

Lord & Berry 20100 Maximatte Lip Crayon in #3402 Soul – $18

Another Lord & Berry lip product but this time, it’s matte! My absolute favorite type of lip formula! As you apply it, its a smooth application with an excellent payoff! It’s easy to carry around in your makeup case and…even after a few weeks of not being used, it’s still rich in color and doesn’t dry up.

Bang Beauty Bashful Blush in Oh Darling – $20

Oh Darling is a orange peach blush and I’m growing to like it. I’m usually a lighter blush kinda girl but I can slowly grow into it. It has a soft lightweight layer of sheer silky color that glides easily. Just always remember to use a light handed sweep to the brush and tap any excess product.  Expiration date is 12 months.

Illuminati Pink Cosmetic Sponge – $21

I usually have one sponge for my foundation and another sponge for applying setting powder and/or blending.

What do you guys think? Would you order this?!

BECCA Volcano Goddess Eyeshadow Palette Review and Swatches

Happy Monday creatives!

I hope you all had a great and safe weekend!

I’m back again with a new eyeshadow palette review! I’ve been using this BECCA Volcano Goddess for the past few weeks now. It was an impulse buy at TJ Maxx way before the Corona pandemic.

It has a range of shades, some natural, some glitter, and some metallics.

1st row

Cloud: an easy to use light cream shade used best for a base color (matte)

Volcanic Sand: a cream shade that can be used for either a base or a transitional shade (matte)

Granite: a light dusty taupe  shade that could be used for a base, transitional or even just an allover shade (matte)

Gilded: one of the most golden shades I have seen of yet! In my opinion, the best way to apply this is by gently tapping the eyeshadow instead of using the swiping motion.  (metallic)

Now we’re getting into the glitters and metallics!

Diamond Dust: This is a metallic cream shade with pink and gold specks of glitter this one is actually an if-y for me. it’s kind of hard to blend in even if you do the tapping motions. It’s a bit chunkier than the other glitters. I usually use this as an ending touch to my shadow look. (metallic)

Haze: This is more of a mauve-y rose gold shade that might be one of my mostly used shades of this palette! (shimmer)

Red Rock: This would be a light maroon shade that works perfectly for a crease look. (shimmer)

Lava: A sharp metallic copper that really does remind me of lava! It’s a very distinctive shade. (metallic)

These are more of the earthy dark tones

Agate Ash: a soft taupe shimmer shade that can be used perfectly for a all over shade. You could easily just wash that shade over your eye and add some eyeliner and you would look perfect! (shimmer)

Crate: somewhat of a deep shimmering stone shade that again would be perfect just on it’s own. (shimmer)

Hematite: a deep gunmetal shade with a lot of sparkles! This one as well is best applied with your finger in tapping motions. Remember it’s always best to use your fingers for most of the metallic colors. (shimmer)

Midnight Sapphire: a shimmering midnight blue. This is such a beautiful color however, this is actually the 2nd most hardest shade to apply! Again tapping with your fingers is your best way of achieving a smoldering look. I occasionally use this shade when I’m going out in the evening and need a little umph in my look. (metallic)

Pros: The shimmering shadows are to die for! You have a range of different shades whether you want to use it as an everyday look, a special look or an nightlife look.

Cons: I would recommend to do your eye makeup first as you do get quite some fallout as you apply mostly the metallic shades.

Do I regret buying it? Umm, of course not! I really do love this palette and can we talk about the packaging! It’s screaming out indeed volcanic vibes. Don’t you think?!

Wet n Wild Distressed to Impress Nails

Happy Monday loves!

I hope you all had a great weekend, I think it went by too quick!!

Easter is next week, but I still wanted to change things up a bit and go for something darker on my nails. About a few years ago (2014 to be exact), Wet n Wild came out with a limited edition Matte edition. It came out with 6 colors and I wanted to show you guys the Distressed to Impress.

It comes out a dusty brown gray with a creme matte finish. I really like this one as I only had to use 2 coats.

Revlon Nail Art Tortoise Shell

Happy Monday loves!

I hope you all enjoyed your weekend! Anyone end up watching the Emmys?!

I was lucky enough to get to be invited to the Vanity Fair Social Club this weekend, so I thought I would change up my usual nail polish routine.

I found this hidden gem at the Dollar Tree a few days ago and just had to buy it!

It’s the Revlon Nail Art Shiny Matte in 520 Tortoise Shell. On one side, there’s a matte wine color and on the other side, it’s a shiny metallic gold. The nail art aspect is actually on the gold side, so I wanted to do somewhat of a jagged gold tip. It’s definitely a work in progress though! (hehe)

PS: There’s a lot of new exciting posts coming up these 2 weeks! One including a sneak peek into the Vanity Fair Social Club hosted this past weekend!
