Oz Naturals SPF 30 Tinted Moisturizer Review

Happy Wednesday loves. Hope you’re all enjoying your week!

I was lucky enough to be chosen to review the Oz Naturals 30 SPF Broad Spectrum Tinted Sunscreen with Zinc Oxide. Luck was on my side, since I’ve been actually looking for something like a body lotion but with sunscreen. 😀

oz naturals

The Claims:

A medium tint, moisturizing sunscreen lotion that absorbs quickly and provides effective broad spectrum protection from both UVA and UBA rays.

Directions: Apply to all skin exposed to the sun. Make sure you apply liberally and evenly 15 minutes before any sun exposure. Reapply every 2 hour.

My Review:

I like using it as a simple SPF cream. Most of the time I’ve been using this, it’s combined with a body butter. It has a light fragrance to it which I love. Another reason why I like this is because I like the light tint to this moisturizer/SPF. I would definitely buy this next time, especially in this crazy California weather

ISSE 2015 Sample Haul

Hi loves!

A few weeks ago, I went to the International Salon and Spa Expo at the Long Beach Convention Center. It’s a 3 day event where licensed makeup artists, cosmotologists, estheticians and pretty much any one in the personal wellness industry. Estheticians usually aim to go on Sunday and Monday because there’s actually more skincare booths and classes. For the past 2 years now, I’ve been going to the Saturday show mainly because it’s the cheapest day. (Bad I know!)

I went for the first time last year and was there about 3 hours in advance. (You can blame it on misreading the schedule and being sick). I pretty much walked in there and felt so overwhelmed! Just imagine a convention center filled with every type of beauty product booth! Anyways, this year I was prepared and being more social and talkative, I scored so much samples!

Color Club Wicked Sweet Nail Polish and Gold Glitter

There was a post on Instagram where if you reposted a photo and go to a specific booth and I’d get some free stuff

I was given the Color Club Wicked Sweet Nail Polish that is actually scented polish along with 2 mini containers of gold flecks used for nail art.

1.0mm DermaRoller + Eye Serum + Anti-Aging Serum Review

<img style=”display: none” src=”http://www.tomoson.com/images/front/pixel.png” />

Happy Thursday friends!

Can you believe it’s already Thursday?! This week just flew by!

I was sent the 1.0mm Derma Roller, the Revitalizing Eye Serum and the Professional Hyaluronic Acid Serum from Petunia Skincare and Tomoson.

dresaas review

FYI: This might be one of my longer posts I’ve done, so bare with me please! 🙂

*1.0 Derma Roller:

Benefits:

-Stimulates Collagen Production

-Reduces wrinkles & fine lines

-Cellulite Reduction

-Helps improve appearance of scars

-Reduces Enlarged Pores

-Tightens and smoothes skin

How to Use:

Run under hot water before use. Make sure to clean the affected area. Continuously roll back and forth with steady speed and the appropriate pressure. Roll the roller 10 times in three directions: vertical, horizontal and diagonally. Then apply your skincare products.

My Opinion:

It’s actually called a Derma Roller system that’s made of stainless steel. It uses 540 needles in 1.0mm for the size. When I first saw this, I was intimidated when I heard that it had needles! While it does pinch and you do feel it, it’s not too painful. Only thing I don’t like is that my skin turned kind of red, hence only using it at night. But when I did wake up the next morning, the redness was gone and could feel a difference. It really does help the skin absorb the serums and moisturizers after using it.

DermaRoller

(you can see the mini needles in this close up photo)

*Revatilizing Eye Serum

Main ingredients:

-Sea Kelp and hyaluronic acid, Matrixyl 3000 & Natural Active Peptides

-Vitamin C and Ferulic Acid

My Opinion:

I used this twice a day. Once in the morning before my face serum and once at night after I used the Derma Roller. It helped my under eye area by minimizing the wrinkles and lifting my face. It’s not too heavy and there’s not much of a scent. I prefer having eyes serums with no scent, so that was a plus!

eye serum

Professional Hyaluronic Acid Serum:

Benefits:

-Holds in moisture that helps plump the skin and diminishes fine lines and wrinkles

-Leaves skin feeling and looking radiant and rejuvenated

My Opinion:

I use this every morning and every night after using a toner. In the morning before my moisturizer that way, the moisturizer seals the serum in. I use this at night after I use the Derma Roller. Just like the eye serum, using a serum after the Derma Roller does help to absorb the serum. I use it on my face, neck and decollete. It’s a clear consistency and it has an algae scent to it. It’s not too strong and its not greasy or oily.

Valentina Even Glow Serum Review

Hi loves,

I hope your having a great weekend. 🙂

I was sent the Valentina Even Glow Serum to test and review and oh my, I really did enjoy it!

It’s an antioxidant treatment to brighten, protect and even skin tone while reducing the appearance of aging. It has 20% of Vitamin C.

Ingredients:

20% Vitamin C: It boosts the immune system while also provides many benefits to keep the skin tight, smooth and looking ageless. It also helps reduce the effects of sun exposure on the skin like sun burns, sun spots, wrinkles and redness.

Organic Rosehip Seed Oil & Organic Sea Buckthorn Oil: They promote skin hydration locks in moisture to protect your skin from signs of aging and improve its beauty and youthfulness.

Resistem (Plant Stem Cells): This provides the perfect mix of protection from stress-related aging and promotes skin detoxification. It also helps your skin regenerate faster while protecting it from environmental stressors.

Hyaluronic Acid (Botanicals): It can hold up to 1000 times it’s weight in water and drawing moisture out of the environment. It penetrates deeply, and actives collagen production for a fresher, younger, firmer, and brighter complexion. This is one of the most effective moisturizing ingredient in the market today.

Green Tea Extract: It is a potent antioxidant which also contributes to the overall anti-inflammatory and anti-irritant benefits of this ancient health and beauty secrets.

The Benefits:

*Evens Skin Tone

*Increases Glow and Radiance

*Absorbs Quickly

*Boosts Collagen Production

*Reduces Wrinkles and Fine Lines

My Review:

I’m not going to lie, but when I first received it, I was a feeling a little sketchy about it. The only reason I felt sketchy at first was because I received another Vitamin C serum that purely felt like just water with a hint of a scent. Lets not ramble on the bad product haha. Back to the original review.

The Texture: it’s smooth and perfect in the sense of feeling like a serum. It dries pretty quickly and has no feeling of an oily or greasy texture. I wore moisturizer after applying the serum but didn’t feel heavy at all.

How I used it: I shook the bottle lightly for 1-2 seconds just so the natural ingredients weren’t separated. I applied 1 drop to my forehead, two drops on both cheeks and one last drop on my chin and decollete. I then waited until it dried and then applied my moisturizer.

The Scent: I love the scent! In my opinion, it smells like orange or something citrus-y (if that’s even a word!)

After using it for a month or so, I have seen such a difference on my face. It seems more supple, soft, smooth and it really does help even out the skin tone.

If you’d like to check this serum out, you can find it on http://www.ValentinaSkinCare.com and their Amazon link is

I am looking forward to trying new products with Valentina Skin Care again!

Mario Badescu Review

Hi Loves!

I hope you all are having a great week. 🙂

A few weeks ago I got an email that includes all the freebies of that week and it had the Mario Badescu skincare sample. You basically sign up and they ask questions about your skin type and after you answer the questions, they handpick your skincare routine. Then after a few days you will get an email talking about the products more in detail and they offer you free samples of your regimen. It takes a few days to weeks for the samples to arrive. It came with a personalized instruction guide as well as a product guide discussing all of the products available and how to apply them.

There are four types of skin types: (once you take the questionnaire, they will tell you what type you are)

1. Combination- (C)

2. Oily- (O)

3. Dry- (D)

4. Sensitive (S)

What I got, a description and my review:

*Aloe Lotion: An aloe and 2% alcohol toner/astringent that cools the skin. I personally like it. When I put it on after cleansing my face, it feels refreshing. It has a light fresh scent. (Great for Combination, Dry and Sensitive Skin)

aloe

*Flower and Tonic Mask: It’s a combination of purifying and calming mask for congested, bumpy or slightly oily skin. Balsam Peru calms minor redness and irritation and Kaolin absorbs the dirt and oil from the pores. I honestly didn’t see any difference with this mask except for my nose since I do get blackheads a lot. I would only use it for my t-zone. (Great for Combination, Oily and Sensitive skin)

flower tonic mask

*Glycolic Eye Cream: High in antioxidant Vitamin E and blend of oils for a soft youthful looking eye area. I personally like this especially using it every morning and night. It’s light and fresh, not too greasy. (Great for ALL skin types)

glycolic eye cream

*Drying Cream: very effective treatment to dry up small under-surface blemishes that look like raised bumps. The aloe rich cream conceals and heals erupted pimples. This is probably the best thing I have tried for those pesky hormonal acne or blemishes. It does indeed dry up the pimple and makes it look less irritated. (Great for ALL skin types)

drying cream

*Hyaluronic Moisturizer (SPF 15): Daily moisture and moderate sun protection. Hyaluronic acid locks in skin’s natural moisture and antioxidant Vitamin A based Peanut Oil nourishes skin. Absorbent and non-greasy. I like this moisturizer. It’s simple but does as it says. I did add my own SPF though just to be safe. (Great for Combination, Dry and Sensitive kin)

hyalonic moisturizer spf 15

*Orange Cleansing Soap: Orange extract makes this gentle, cream cleanser mildly exfoliating. Non-oily, non-detergent formula is safe. I wish I could have liked it but it was too simple. It didn’t feel like it cleansed my face at all. (Great for ALL skin types)

orange cleansing soap

* Strawberry Face Scrub: Made with real strawberry seeds that gently buff away flaky skin while natural AHA’s (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) breakdown dull build up. It improves the overall texture. Again, I wish I would have liked this one. It didn’t feel like it worked on me. There was no difference after I used it.

strawberry scrub

I would definitely buy the Aloe Lotion and the Drying Cream. You can buy Mario Badescu products at Ulta, Nordstrom and at http://www.mariobadescu.com/Skin-Care

What I also liked about this sample kit is that it included a very personalize product application guide and also had pictures of how to apply the products on your face. In the product guide as well also has a glossary for the words that aren’t familiar.

What do you guys think? Would you fill a questionnaire to test out a skincare regimen?

ISSE 2014 Haul

Hey Lovies!

I hope everyone is doing great. Sorry for being so MiA, with so many things going on recently I’ve been swamped. From getting sick, family dilemmas to starting work!

So this past weekend January 25-27, the ISSE (International Salon and Spa Expo) 2014 came upon us in the Long Beach Convention Center, CA. I went on Saturday and felt so overwhelmed (having this be my first time to any such expo) haha. I did some shopping but didn’t break the bank! haha What I love about these expos is that there’s so many discounts and so much to see. Here’s a sneak peak to what I splurged on. 🙂

expo haul

They had a special in the Beauty Bar where you pay only $5 to get 5 deluxe samples. 😀 And may I say, they were pretty big samples.

I got the:

*Aveda Dry Remedy daily moisturizing oil: 1 fl oz.

*Orly Polishield all-in-one ultimate topcoat: 0.6 fl oz.

moujan 2000

I always hear so much hype about the Crown Brushes and I had to give it a try! It’s cheap and from what I can tell, its not bad at all. I got the IB132 Stiff Brow Brush. http://www.crownbrush.us/

crown brush

J.Cat Cosmetics: I never had heard of this company before but when I saw the prices, I was shocked! Some of the products were 3 for $6 or 3 for $9 on other selected products. I got the 3 for $6. http://jcatbeauty.com/

*Roll It Up Auto Lip Liner in “Puce” ( I actually bought it thinking it was a nude eyeliner) But I contacted them and they said it’s perfectly safe to use as an eyeliner. Score!

*Roll It Up Auto Eye Liner in “Bulk Black” Water Resistant

*Flying Solo Eye Shadow in “138 Down Low”

jcat makeup

I then got some freebies just buy walking around and random people passing samples out. That’s another great thing about these types of expos. 😀 I got a Poppin Hair Clip, a nail filer on one side and the other side is a mirror and a few hair samples from Amika: Oil Treatment and a Nourishing Mask.

I hope you all liked this haul and I’m looking forward to trying out these products and reviewing them!

Until next time! 🙂

TreSkinRX 2-Week Trial Kit Review

Hey loves!

Hope you’ve all been well! 🙂

I was sent a free 2 week trial of the TreSkinRX for Normal Skin. It’s been awhile since I did this review but I wanted to finish the whole product in order to get my full opinion on it!

Most skin care products main ingredient is water but why pay so much for a product when the main ingredient is water? I don’t get it either. The difference about this product than other high brand products is that this is based on Aloe Vera.

The Benefits of Aloe Vera:

*Penetrates tissue

*Anti-inflammatory

*Anti-microbial

*Wound Healing

*Therapeutic

*Supported by clinical research

*Anesthetic

2 week trial

There are three different kits available:

1. Normal Skin

2. Oily Skin

3. Acne “Clear Skin”

For a two-week product trial kit it would be $14.99 (not bad considering it being a trial)

THE BREAKDOWN:

Step 1: Purifying Cleanser:

It’s a gel cleanser that feels refreshing. It removes makeup, dirt, debri and oil but doesn’t have that drying effect. Your skin feels soft and clean.

purifying cleanser

Step 2: EX3 Daily Renewing Exfoliant:

When I first saw this I was amazed. It’s a sea green color with blue-green micro-beads that are filled with Vitamin C. For most exfoliants/scrubs, you put it on while your face is wet but this one is actually applied when your skin is dry! You basically apply it to your face so that the micro-beads dissolve and wait a few minutes before you put on the moisturizer. At first, it advises you to apply it once a day but then after the 1st week you can apply it up to 2 times a day. That was my first time hearing that you can exfoliate twice a day! By the way, Do Not Rinse Off!

daily exfoliant

look of ex3

Step 3: Triple Defense Day Moisturizer with SPF 15

It helps protect the skin from external factors that cause premature aging and helps the skin stay soft and smooth. I personally love the feeling of this moisturizer. It’s soft and does not have a heavy or greasy feeling.

day moisurizer

Step 4: Night Repair Moisturizer

Before you go to sleep, you apply this night moisturizer to restore and preserve your skin’s natural moisture level and revive your skin’s tension and firmness. Just like the day moisturizer, there’s no greasy heavy feeling which is great.

night moisturizer

My Tips:

*If you feel like the exfoliant is getting runny or too liquid-y, you could shake it and stir it with a spatula or toothpick. You could also put it in the fridge for a while.

*When you apply the moisturizers, apply using upward and outward strokes. (it decreases wrinkles)

*If you’re going to work out, apply the exfoliant after your workout.

*It’s supposed to be a 3-week trial but for me it lasted longer because I only need to use a small amount.

I did like using this kit. It was a new experience. I really did enjoy the EX3 Exfoliant because as an esthetician, I’m amazed that I found an exfoliant that you can use daily!

If anyone would like to check out their other products, the website is: http://www.TreSkinRX.com 🙂

Gunilla of Sweden Nutrient Rich Body Lotion Review

Hey loves!

So sorry for the long wait in my posts! I just started my last semester of college and it’s already overwhelming.

I was given the Gunilla of Sweden Hydro-Organic Skin Care Nutrient Rich Body Lotion to try and review and have been playing with it for quite a long time now. I have to admit I love it! But before I tell you why, I just want to give you guys the run down about this special product; its not like your average normal body lotion.

Lets take a look at the name brand lotion when you break apart the ingredients:

Name Brand Body Lotions

*70% is water: No nutrients, No Healing Vitamins

*10% Mineral Oil “Pore Clogging”

*5% Animal products “Lanolin”

*5% Harsh Preservatives

*10% Synthetic Fillers & Emollients

ABC-> Active Botanical Content is 0% (that can’t be good, right?)

Now lets look at the :

Gunilla’s Aloe Based Nutrient Rich Body Lotion

*65% Organic Aloe: anti-inflammatory and proven to heal skin better than many prescription drugs

*12% Organic Pomegranate, Strawberry

*3% Natural Preservatives and Emollients

ABC-> Active Botanical Content is 77%(way higher thanthe name brand)

DSC02760

The sad thing is that people want to buy the high end brands because they think since they’re paying lots of money for it, that it’s the real deal. But in reality, its quite the opposite. I’m not saying that I think people shouldn’t buy high end brands, I mean we all do it, I would just say not to buy so much.

The name brand body lotions as you can see has lots of different ingredients but none are natural, they’re mostly chemicals.

My Opinion:

The packaging label is adorable in my opinion. Its an oval shaped sticker with the border being gold.

logo sweden

It smells like the beach to be honest. Like aloe and a little fruity. Its really soothing and makes your skin baby soft. I tried it when I had a sunburn and it felt like one of those after sun creams. It really helped with my sunburn! I was sunburned on my shoulders and put the lotion on twice a day, it was gone within a week but then it start peeling. Long story short, I used it twice a day and the peeling wasn’t all that bad from my experiences.

It’s 12.8 fl oz (380 mL) for the price of $25. Not bad at all!

Here’s a link to anyone who is interested about it.

http://www.gunillaofsweden.com/

Recap: Its an organic, cruelty free body lotion made with more aloe than water. Dermatologist tested, no parabens, sulfates, dyes, petrochemicals and harsh irritants. 100% Organic Pure Aloe Based
