Smoked Salmon Breakfast Sandwich

Happy Wednesday loves! I hope it’s been a great week so far. It’s going by so quick, we’re already in middle of July!

I’m back again with a recipe which I created a few years ago and since this quarantine started, I’m using this recipe again!

The best thing is that it is very customizable in case you don’t have a specific ingredient!

Ingredients for my Smoked Salmon Breakfast Sandwich

*2 slices of bread ( I used Oroweat Organic 22 Grain and Seed)

*1 egg

*1 avocado

*Bonjour Kefir Yogurt Mint & Dill or cream cheese or Labne

*2 slices of smoked salmon

Directions:

  1. Toast the bread any way you like
  2. Turn on the skillet and scoop out a teaspoon of ghee and a teaspoon of butter.
  3. When it starts to sizzle, place the egg in the skillet and let it cook.
  4. I prefer my eggs to be a bit over easy so when I see it as over easy I turn off the stove.
  5. Spread some cream cheese, or spreadable cheese of choice on one side of bread.
  6. On the other bread, spread the avocado.
  7. Place the smoked salmon on the cream cheese side and place the egg on the other bread.
  8. Put them together and there you go!

What do you guys think?! Would you try it?!

Milk Street Coffee Sugar Sampler Pack

Happy Wednesday loves! I hope your week is going great so far! It’s been a hectic week, let me tell you!

So I have this new idea where I post about food related topics like recipes and new products coming out.

What do you guys think?!

I’m starting off this series with a Coffee Sugar Sampler pack made by Milk Street.

What is Milk Street?

It is a multimedia (magazines, books, online shopping) and instructional food preparation created by Christopher Kimball, who is an American chef, editor, publisher and a radio TV personality. Check out his podcast!

What exactly is Coffee Sugar?

There is actually 6 different coffee sugars that Milk Street Offers.

*Caramel Brulee – sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla

*Coconut Ginger Cream – coconut milk cream powder, ginger, cumin, cinnamon, nutmeg, coriander, black pepper, cardamom, bay leaf and cloves

*Burnt Sugar Orange – sugar, cinnamon and allspice

*Turkish Cardamom – sugar, cocoa, cardamom and cinnamon

*Mexican Mocha – sugar, cocoa, cinnamon and dehydrated chili pepper

*Honey Spice Tea Sugar – sugar, honey, cinnamon, coriander, ginger, allspice, peppermint and lavender

How to Use Coffee Sugars?

Let me tell you: The possibilities are endless! You could use them on baking recipes. I.e. cakes, cookies, pancakes, coffee, tea, yogurt, french toast. I would even try the Mexican Mocha and the Turkish Cardamom on meat! However, just a pinch.

What do you guys think? Would you try this?!

PB&J French Toast with Vital Proteins Collagen

Hello my loves and happy Wednesday!

I hope you all are having a great week so far!

It’s been a long while since I posted a recipe let alone never blogged about collagen.

I first was introduced to Vital Proteins a few years back at the Expo West in Anaheim, California as well as another blogger by the name of The Skinny Confidential (hi Lauren!)

Vital Proteins has so many different products on their website which includes collagen water, collagen mini powders, collagen creamers, immunity boosters, collagen lattes, collagen bars, matcha powders and even workout powders.

Benefits of Collagen:

Did you know collagen helps strengthen nails, hair, skin, bones and joints and as we get older, our bodies are not able to synthesize collagen on their own and a lot of our food intake doesn’t include collagen.**

How to Use:

Simply put into your waters, coffees, beverages and food recipes. The best thing is that this specific kind has no scent and can easily dissolve into water.

My PB&J French Toast Recipe:

* 4 slices of bread

* 1 scoop of Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides

* 1 egg

* 1/4 cup of milk

* pinch of salt

* cinnamon

* 2 tablespoons of butter or ghee

Spread peanut butter and jelly on the bread as if you were making a sandwich.

Whisk egg, milk, salt, cinnamon and collagen powder.

Gently place the sandwich into the egg mix and make sure you get both sides saturated.

Place 1 tablespoon of butter on the pan and wait for it to sizzle.

Using your spatula, place the sandwich in the pan and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes then turn over and wait a few minutes again.

With the other 1 tablespoon of butter, again place the butter in the pan for the next batch of french toast.

When it’s all said and done, sprinkle powdered sugar and some maple syrup on top.

Bon Appetite!

Spicy Asian Wings

My first Throwback Thursday!

Blooming Beauty Bites

Hi loves!

I wanted to do a little Throwback Thursday for you!

Even though I posted this a few years back, I think it’s worth it to bring it back! I still make this a few times a month!

Shout out to Village Bakery for reminding me of this post!

I figured I would try something new out and post a few recipes that I love.

I tried making this spicy Asian wings sauce just for fun and ended up, I love making it now! It’s fairly easy and quick.

FYI: I usually just eyeball the measurements of the ingredients.

Ingredients:

1 lemon

1 Tbsp Sesame Oil

1 tsp rice vinegar

1/2 tsp of molasses (I used black)

1 Tbsp Kikkoman Roasted Garlic & Herbs Marinade (you can just use soy sauce)

1 Tbsp Pepper Sauce (I used Kakadu Wild Fire Pepper Sauce)

1 Tbsp Lawry’s Mexican Chile Limon marinade

Happy Monday loves! I hope you had a great weekend 🙂

“There is no sincerer love than the love of food” -George Bernard Shaw

With that being said, I found a new coffee shop in La Mirada, California called “Cream & Sugar Cafe” and OMG it is adorable! Located in a small strip mall, the front doesn’t give it justice. From the outside, it doesn’t look like much.

The Decor:

The color of the walls are medium gray and there’s lots of artwork on the wall. A drawing of the world map, a big wooden headboard that has HELLO in silver letter and sometimes it lights up! One of my favorite little detail about this place is that on every table there is 1 mason jar that contains sugar and another mason jar that has mini coffee creamers. The menu is actually a chalkboard that has all of the options available.

The Food/Drinks:

The first time I came here I had got the Iced Mint Coffee. *Yes I know: iced coffee with mint?!* It’s not as sweet as you would expect, but in my opinion, sometimes too much sweet takes away from the coffee taste. This iced coffee had more of a light hint of mint. *A little about me: I love mostly everything mint!* What I also love about this place and their coffee, is that when you order for here, you get your coffee in a mason jar. They were so sweet that they gave me a sample of the iced mint coffee before I ordered to see if I would like it. The sample was in another mini mason jar!

The second time I purchased something here was the Watermelon Mojito. My favorite alcoholic beverage is a mojito so you can imagine of course I had to get the non-alcoholic version of this. I love the different layers shown in this pic! You’ve got the lemonade flavor on the bottom while the watermelon is on the top and that cute little mint sprig as the topping. It’s such a refreshing drink especially in the summer!

The last thing I ordered recently was the Roast Beef with Horseradish sandwich. It has roast beef, red onions, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese and a horseradish dressing on a baguette. I’m honestly not a big fan of horseradish but for some reason it fit perfectly in the sandwich.

Bon Appetit Thin Crust Pizza Review

Happy Humpday loves!

Hope you’re all having a great week! Can’t believe it’s already Wednesday.

I was lucky enough to get chosen by BzzAgent to review the Bon Appetit Thin Crust Pizza. There’s five different varieties. I haven’t bought many frozen pizza but with this brand, I wouldn’t mind purchasing this.

  1. Mozzarella and Pesto – tangy basil pesto, sliced mozzarella and cherry tomatoes
  2. Spinaci – mouthwatering combination of mozzarella, Asiago and Parmesan cheese, spinach and a flavorful garlic sauce
  3. Pepperoni and Pesto – a bold combination of pepperoni, flavorful basil pesto and a zesty herb blend, along with Mozzarella, Provolone and Parmesan cheese
  4. Roasted Vegetables – fire-roasted tomatoes, red onion and red, green and yellow bell peppers paired with a delicious blend of mozzarella, Romano and Parmesan cheeses
  5. Trio Bacon – a decadent combination of Canadian bacon, traditional bacon and Italian Pancetta, caramelized sweet onions and mozzarella cheese

I’ve tried the Spinaci, Pepperoni Pesto and the Trio Bacon.

SPINACI:

This one might be my favorite variety out of all five of them. Even when you open the box, you can smell the garlic and the cheeses. I’ve bought this already two times, that’s how much I love it! As it is in the oven, you can smell the flavors even more. No joke, the first time I bought this, I finished the pizza in one setting.

PEPPERONI AND PESTO:

This is my second favorite pizza available in the Bon Appetit Thin Crust Pizza. The flavors are great! Especially when sometimes you don’t want much meat on your pizza, this is perfect. The two dominant flavors in this pizza would be the pepperoni and the pesto and there’s such an equal amount of each.

TRIO BACON:

I wish I would have liked this one, but no not really. 😦 To me, it was just way too much bacon for me. I would have this once in awhile but not on a regular basis.

Where To Purchase:

I’ve seen them sold at Ralphs, Winco, Target and some Stater Bros. The cheapest place to buy it would be at Wincos, just because it’s about $3.99 and with a $1 off coupon, you’re basically buying it for only $3!

Dunkin Donuts Downey Grand Opening ‘

Hi loves!

Hope you all are enjoying the beginning of fall especially with the pumpkin spice theme coming from all the coffee places!

I wanted to change up things a bit with a post about the 2nd Dunkin Donuts in Southern California located in Downey. When I first heard that they were going to open a Dunkin Donuts in Downey, I was so excited because I heard great things about the iced coffees and donuts. This is actually one of the first Dunkin Donuts that has a drive thru in SoCal!

IMG_20140924_081840

The grand opening was on September 23, 2014 and started at 5am! :-O For the first person in line as well as the first person in the drive thru line would get free coffee for the whole yr! The first 100 guests in line did get a Dunkin Donuts tote filled with goodies! For everyone who came yesterday did get a free medium iced coffee.

IMG_20140924_082057

I got there about 11am and the line wasn’t too long but I didn’t get my coffee and donuts until almost 11:50am. I think it was well worth it though, however I didn’t see anything about the “California-inspired donut”. I did get the medium iced coffee in Caramel. Not too sweet but not too strong, dare I say I might start getting this more than Starbucks iced coffee!

As for the donuts, I kind of wish there was more of a variety of donut flavors but I understand it was that grand opening so it was limited. For a dozen donuts, its about $9.95 and for a single donut it’s $0.99 which isn’t bad considering it to be a well known brand. As for the flavors I got: Boston Kreme, Chocolate Frosted, Old Fashioned Cake, Sprinkles, and Vanilla. At this point, I think my favorite would have to be vanilla.

I am definitely looking forward to coming here more often and try more of the donut flavors and coffee flavors.

**they also have a rewards card called DD Perks. You get a free medium beverage when you first sign up, on your birthday and every time you earn 200 points. You earn 5 points for every $1 you spend.

Kroger Skillet Meals Review

krogerSkillet

Happy New Years loves!

I hope 2014 brings happiness and blessings to everyone!

As a Bzz Agent, this time I received the Kroger Skillet Meals which include a skillet dish, garlic bread and a salad.

*Tuscan Style Penne

*Sausage Rigatoni

*Penne with grilled chicken

*Chicken Florentine

*Chicken Fajitas

*Sorrento-Style Gnoochi

*Shrimp Lo-Mein

It takes about 10 minutes, each meal contains at least 2 servings per bag and 20 grams or more of protein.

It’s available at all Krogers, Ralphs, Food4less, Dillions, King Soopers and Smiths.

I was lucky enough to find the Chicken Florentine which was to die for! The chicken was so soft and juicy. The garlic bread was a pretty big size so that lasted me for a few days while the skillet was done in 2 days. For some reason though, the salads are pretty hard to find. Every time I found a salad, it was on clearance. Grr.

I would buy this again, especially wanting to try the Sausage Rigatoni. 🙂

Spicy Asian Wings

Hi loves!

I wanted to do a little Throwback Thursday for you!

I figured I would try something new out and post a few recipes that I love.

I tried making this spicy Asian wings sauce just for fun and ended up, I love making it now! It’s fairly easy and quick.

1 tsp rice vinegar

1 Tbsp Kikkoman Roasted Garlic & Herbs Marinade (you can just use soy sauce)

1 Tbsp Pepper Sauce (I used Kakadu Wild Fire Pepper Sauce)

1 Tbsp Lawry’s Mexican Chile Limon marinade

1 Tbsp Sweet & Spicy Chili Dressing

1 Tbsp Sriracha (this stuff is amazing!)

Black Pepper and Salt

Sesame Seeds

Garlic Salt

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat the oven at 375 degrees.

2. Mix all wet ingredients first then the dry ingredients. Mix all together.

3. Place aluminum foil on a tray. Spray on the foil a non-stick spray or butter so the chicken doesn’t stick to the foil.

4. Save half of the mixture into another bowl.

5. Dip the chicken wings into the one bowl of mixture. Turn to the other side to let it marinade for a 10 minutes.

6. Transfer the chicken wings to the tray leaving some room in between the wings.

7. Place in oven for 1 hour.

(Optional)

8. When it’s ready and cooled down, you take the other bowl of mixture and dip the already made chicken in it.

9. Relax and Enjoy!
