Soosul Skin Review

Hey everyone! I hope you all have been doing great! It’s been awhile and I’m sorry. It’s been really hectic in my part of the woods. However, I’m back!

I wanted to come on here and do a mini review on the Soosul Skin that was sent to me. Here’s a little snippet about the company!

Soosul Skin is a cruelty-free, natural, organic and luxury brand made in South Korea created in 2002. We’ve heard about all the hype about mushrooms in coffee and foods right? Well Soosul’s main ingredient in their products is Sang Hwang (Phellinus Linteus) mushroom and is one of the very first mushrooms that Korea has been certified to be used for medicine. This Phellinus Linteus mushroom has outstanding anti-aging and antioxidants. Soosul Skin created products for men and women to help with hyperpigmentation, dehydrated skin, wrinkles, fine lines and dark spots.

Purifying Foam Cleanser

This is a cream to foam cleanser. There’s about 0.5% of SangHwang mushroom extract that’s packed with antioxidants to cleanse and purifies the skin. The scent is very light, it has a very light grapefruit and green tea scent. It isn’t overbearing at all. It indeed is a cream base and I did notice there was a very small amount of grit to the cleanser almost like a scrub which I personally like. The skin type recommended for this product would be for everyone really: normal, oily, combination and dry. I myself can be a bit dry in the winter so the fact that this cleanser turns to foam, is a dry skin’s dream. This product would help with acne, blemishes, oiliness and pores. Honestly sometimes, when I just use the cleanser, my face really does look lighter.

Collagen Boosting Essence Serum

This essence serum is a powerful treatment used after cleaning your face. It contains 10% of the SangHWang mushroom which deeply penetrates into the skin to improve the skin’s natural barrier function and has moisture-holding capacity. The scent again is not very strong, it has a light fragrance. This serum helps with dullness of the skin, uneven texture, dark spots and pores. It also helps with all of the skin types. I love to use this in the morning after cleansing and toner and at night before bed, it gives a supple look and really does make your skin soft and hydrated.

Hydrogel Essential Sheet Mask

I haven’t really seen a mask like this. It actually has 2 parts! The top part of your face (until the nose) and the bottom part which covers under the nose. The scent is a little strong but it’s doable. This mask contains 25mg which gives your skin radiance, hydration, smoothness and plumpness in 10 minutes. You could even leave the mask on up to 30 minutes! A little trick I use is after applying the mask, I like to go over it with a jade roller so the mask can really take more effect. This mask works for all skin types and will help with fine lines, wrinkles, dryness and uneven texture.

They also sent me a few samples: Ginseng Cream with 15% consistency and the Revitalizing Eye Cream infused with 10%.

I always love trying new brands and this one was amazing to try! I would love to eventually love to try out the Neck Firming Cream because lets face it, not everyone pays attention to the neck as we age unfortunately. Take a look at their website, you can’t go wrong. They even have a FREE skin quiz to see which products would benefit you and your skincare needs. If you like what you see and want to try it out, please feel free to use my discount code for 10% off. CHRISTINA10

Have you tried or heard any new skincare that includes mushrooms? I would love to know!

Makeup Mondays: ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette

Happy Monday loves! I hope you are all doing great and handing this crazy heat in Los Angeles!

I wanted to start a new Monday Series called Makeup Mondays, where I review makeup palettes, skincare and hair care!

This week, I’ll be going over ColourPop Sweet Talk Palette and I’m in love with Colour Pop at the moment. So many beautiful eye shadow palettes!

1st Row

Catch Me: a matte beige great for a base all over color

Side2Side: a Super Shock finish great for a sparkly top of an eye look. Super Shocks can be hard to work with sometimes. I would recommend put a little pressure in your finger and swipe the shadow on your eyes.

Garden Date: a metallic medium coral.

Work It: a matte bright orange.

2nd Row:

Prima Drama: a pressed gold glitter. I would recommend this to be applied away from your ducts! so preferably on the middle of the lid.

Meadow: a matte medium dark orange. I’ve been using this shade pretty much most of the time when I use this palette.

Early Morning: an orange gold pressed glitter.

Dream Maker: a matte dusty pink.

3rd Row: the more darker shades

ICYMI: a matte deep coppery-orange

Melody: a metallic light medium coral with gold shimmer specks.

West Side: a matte medium brown.

Feel Free: a matte medium dark red brown.

I feel like these 2 last shades would work great as a crease or outer V color.

I would give this palette a 10/10 to be honest! The shades are all diverse and work great together. The only con for me would be the glitters as there is quite a bit of fallout, but what glitters don’t?!

You can find Colour Pop on their website, or even at Ulta (with select products)

What did you think?! Would you try out ColourPop Pressed Powder Palettes?

Ingredients: flower extracts and avocado, pumpkin oils and rice bran extract

I’ve only used it a few times now but so far, I am loving it! It doesn’t give you a greasy oily feeling as it lounging on your skin. As for the scent, it’s a very light floral scent, it’s not very noticeable IMO.

How to Use: Dispense 3-5 drops in your hand. Using gentle sweeping and patting motions to apply to your face, neck. You could even use a few drops with your moisturizer, serums or even body lotions for an extra boost of moisture.

Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cream $65 – 1.7 fl oz/ 50 mL

I’ve been in search of a new moisturizing cream since we all have been wearing masks due to COVID 19.

What is it? A daily moisturizer to deliver hydration and help repair the skin’s natural lipid barrier. This is a gentle formula that instantly absorbs to create a beautiful and healthy glow.

Ingredients: Jojoba and avocado to help hydrate and condition. Aloe to naturally sooth and help calm skin. Grapeseed Oil and Vitamin and natural antioxidants that help neutralize free radicals.

I love this moisturizer as it has a very light consistency. It’s not too greasy at all and it really does remind me of a thicker type of milk.

Silked Satin Pillow Sleeve $29.50

In my opinion, you can never have too many pillow sheets, especially this one! I have heard that silk pillow sheets really do help with us frizzy hair girls.

What is it? It’s an open ended design that fits most standard, queen king pillows. 100% Poly Satin Charmeuse front while the back is 95% Rayon 5% Spandex that is non slip. It is a perfect traveling essential for covering those pesky hotel pillows. It prevents beadhead, hair breakage, dry and frizzy hair, prevents skin creases, fine lines and skin irritations.

WINKY LUX Uni-Brow Universal Eyebrow Pencil $16

A Univeral brow pencil that works with both light eyebrows and darker eyebrows. Who would have thunk it!! I had my doubts until I tried it on my eyebrows (I have dark brows) and I also tried it on my mom (she has light sparse brows) Well I can tell you, I’m a firm believer on this one!

What is it? A cool toned eyebrow pencil that works for most brow shades. The firm texture allows for maximum control, creating a universally flattering eye look everytime!

Pro Tips: *Increase your application pressure for darker toned brows. *Apply softer pressure for light-colored brows. *

Cali Cosmetics Foot Cream with Menthol in Tarocco $24 – 2.5 fl oz / 75 mL

We are slowly entering summer territory, so it’s a no brainer that we got a foot cream in our Fab Fit Fun Summer box.

*Fun Fact: Tarocco is actually a Sicilian Blood Orange*

Simply apply on to feet and massage from your heels to your toes. Use twice daily.

Spongelle Coconut Verbena Hand Cream $18

Another thing that you can never have too many of is of course hand creams. I probably have one hand cream in every purse I have!

This hand cream screams summer vibes to me! It’s infused with Spongelle’s signature scents and patented Salsphere ingredients, this hand cream will help sooth, nourish and hydrate your hands and cuticles. Especially after using hand sanitizer all the time!

Ingredients: Hyaluronic acid (women’s best friend), shea butter, argan and macadamia seed oils.

The Lyfestle Co. Beach Mist $42 – 4oz / 125 mL

Again, another great summer skincare product! As we all know, we need to always refresh and make sure our skin is hydrated especially in these summer months, this is where The Lyfestle Co. Beach Mist comes into play.

What is it? Soothing aloe combines with a cooling combination of mint and lavender which helps moisture and hydrate the sun drenched skin.

Pro Tip: Store it in the refrigerator for extra cooling effect!

The next 2 products were actually from the Add-Ons event. The Add-Ons event is where you can also purchase other products from the Fab Fit Fun store.

type: A Deodorant with Sweat Activated Technology in The Achiever Ocean Mint

I’m in the process of getting rid of all of my other aeresol deodorants since it’s bad for us ultimately. This is aluminum free! I first heard about this brand was a few years ago at an event. So when I saw this I just had to order it. The best part is the scent! It reminds me of the beach with a hint of mint. Okay okay, it’s not a hint of mint, it’s a bit stronger than just a hint! LOL

 Ouai Leave In Conditioner

The very first time I heard about this and/or even tried it out was from my very first FabFitFun box that I signed up for. I’ve had it for about 2 years now, I still haven’t even hit pan yet. However, I knew I needed to reorder this just just in case I can’t get my hands on it again and for the price as well! At Sephora it’s $26 while I ordered mine for $7!

There’s something I just love about it! The scent, the formula of the leave in conditioner, how it just oomphs my curly hair.

Fall 2018 FabFitFun Box

Happy Monday loves!

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! Here we are, back at work on Monday! :p

I took the plunge in ordering the Fall 2018 FabFitFun Box when I received an email with $10 off your first box! Who can say no to that?

Let me tell you, I was not disappointed! There’s a mix of beauty, self care, fitness, jewelry, and accessories!

This box originally is $49.99 and it’s sent every season. In my opinion, this is a no brainer since the total value is $295!!!! :O I don’t know about you….But I’m sold! Another plus is that you can customize a few products which is also nice! Meaning: you have 3 choices and you get to pick one!

GLAMGLOW BUBBLESHEET OXYGENATING DEEP CLEANSE MASK (2 Pack) – $18

I’ve heard many great things about this brand, especially the mask! This mask will have you glowing! It’s a weekly bubble detox to put skin in it’s happy place. I haven’t used this one yet but they give you a 3D bubble experience!

Spongalle Body Buffer in “Freesia Pear” – $16

So I’ve never used a body wash infused buffer but hey it sounds and smells amazing!! You can use it more than just one time which is always great! It’s dermatologist tested and works for all skin types. It cleanses, exfoliates, hydrates and massages. Apparently the exfoliating massage texture changes to a soft, silky one as you squeeze it.

AHAVA Mineral Hand Cream – $33

This for me is a classic. I love the scent and it’s so moisturizing! Created with Dead Sea minerals, this mineral rich hand cream instantly improves skin’s moisture level. It also smoothes rough, dry skin, and restores suppleness. I’m addicted to the scent FYI!

Free People x Understated Leather Starry Eyed Travel Eye – $40

So this is a vegan leather eye mask that has a removable, non-toxic cooling insert to keep you feeling and looking fresh. This would be great for days or nights where I have those nasty headaches. The adjustable straps offer a comfy fit while the beautiful metallic patchwork keeps you dreaming with the stars!

Summer & Rose Brittany Tote in “Navy” – $54

I’ve never seen anything like this before but it’s adorable and simple! Rope handles, stripes on stripes, and vegan leather, this is a tote where you should reserve a spot in your handbag collection! It also has two pockets, making it easy to carry around your essentials as well as it zips up.  It’s really a cute but especially for the summer season!

CYLO Cobra Bluetooth Wireless Earbuds in “White/Rose Gold”- $40

I’ve actually been looking for a Bluetooth for the past few weeks instead of just using Bluetooth Speaker, so this came at the perfect time! They’re chic and comfy Bluetooth earbuds which came with interchangeable buds. They also include the onboard controls and neck strap which helps you enjoy your music tangle-free.

CUSTOMIZATION 1: ELEMIS Papaya Enzyme Peel – $33

This was one of the customization products that I could choose from two options. I’m a sucker for skincare, so that was a given! This is a rinse-off cream which is made with exfoliating papaya, milk protein, and antioxidant-rich vitamin E that works together to exfoliate and purify tired, lackluster skin.

CUSTOMIZATION 2: Crown Brush 6 Piece Brush Set in “Black + Rose Gold” – $75

This was the second customization that was offered. I have heard of Crown Brushes back when I was in my esthetician program but never had a chance to buy them. They’re made of 100% synthetic bristles, this 6 piece brush set has everything you need to perfect any look! Plus, it’s an easy way to travel with. The brushes include: Powder, blush, concealer, shadow, blending and eyeliner.

Sponsored: ApotheCARE Essentials

This is more of a extra bonus product and hey it’s haircare! I received the Vanilla Argan Oil Sweet Almond Shampoo and COnditioner. It’s refered to as ‘The Replenisher: intense hydration for dry hair”. I also go the Rosehip Oil Geranium Aloe Vera shampoo and conditioner. This one is called “The Booster: dynamic volume for fine + flat hair”.

There you have it folks! Now let me tell you, I don’t think I’d ever cancel this subcription box! As you can see, everything I received in total was more than how much I paid!

Pop-arazzi “Midnight Maven”

Happy Monday loves!

I hope you all are well! It’s been so long that I’ve last dropped in and say hi! I’ll be posting regularly after this post. Missed you guys so much!

When you sign up for CVS Beauty rewards, you get a free Pop-arazzi nail polish for your birthday. Who can say no to that! It’s free and you’re also getting cash back every time you reach $30.

Anyways, I digress. Since my birthday was last month, I got the coupon and ended up getting this lovely nail polish.

I’ve used this brand so many times but I haven’t bought one that it’s in the red shades. This one here is called Midnight Maven. It’s a beautiful wine red which only had 3 layers. After using my Seche Gel Top Coat, its already been a week and it’s still pretty strong!

have you guys tried this brand before? I would love to know your thoughts!

Nail & Bone “Nimbus”

Happy Monday loves!

I hope you all have had a great weekend, can you believe it’s already summer!?

I’m doing something completely different but I just love this post so much that I’m reblogging it!

Speaking about puppies and doggies, here’s a shout out to Dog Product Picker! Your one stop online store for doggie products!

Happy Monday loves!

Hope you all had a great Super Bowl Weekend. I personally don’t usually watch the Super Bowl but like many people watch it for the commercials! What did you think of the commercials?

A couple weeks ago I was lucky enough to go to BlushCon 2018. It was part of the Asian American Expo, and it was probably one of the biggest expos I’ve been to.

As I was browsing BlushCon, I came across a booth: Nail & Bone. First thing that came to my mind was it must be a nail polish brand that has to do something with dogs. I was right!

Nail & Bone is a nail polish company that gives 20% of their proceeds to pet rescue and adoption centers such as SPCALA  Friends for Life, Best Friends Animal Society and Greater Good Animal Rescue.  My heart jumped a beat when I learned about it.

The cutest thing about this company is that all the shades are named after famous influential people’s dogs! Ellen has one and even Halle Berry! Look at that puppy trademark!

The shade I’m wearing is Nimbus which looks great on an accent nail and if you’re feeling daring you could even use Nimbus as a multi-color glitter top coat. I used Julep in Jet as the base coat.

Did you want to know who owns this adorable Mini-American Eskimo dog? I’ll give you a hint: her first YouTube video was an Avatar Naa’vi makeup tutorial. She became a viral sensation and has more than 4.5 million subscribers. Last but not least, she’s well known for her transformation videos. Any ideas yet??….

….

Promise Phan!!!

Btw: She actually did transform herself to Nimbus, his reaction was just too adorable! Check it out here!

Mani Monday: CND Vinylux Weekly Polish “Dark Lava #110”

Happy Monday loves!

Hope all had a great weekend. 🙂

Did you know that CVS now sells CND Nail polish?! Well, I first saw it a few months ago but finally purchased a polish to see if it was worth the hype. Let me tell you, there’s a ton of shades of these polishes! It costs $10.50, a little expensive then usual but hey, you know I just love trying new polishes.

I got the CND Vinylux Weekly Polish in the shade Dark Lava. It’s a shimmery dark purple with a red tone and also a bit opaque.

I think I’m a big fan of wine colored polishes for the most part!

What do you think? 🙂

Revlon ColorStay “270 Stiletto”

Happy Monday loves!

Can you believe we’re only 2 weeks away from Christmas!

I’ve been in the mood for darker nail polishes since Christmas are coming up! So then, I opted for Revlon ColorStay in 270 Stiletto. It’s a beautiful black cream polish which works perfectly for the holidays, especially if you add an accent nail with a glitter top coat.

What do you guys think? Any other nail polishes I should look into?

Get to Know Me Tag: The Beauty Blogger

Happy Thursday loves!

I’ve been wanting to do a Get to Know Me Tag “the beauty blogger version” for the longest time! So I thought I’d do it today 😀

I actually found this tag from Katie at the From My Vanity and liked the question so why not!

1.  Is your hair naturally curly or straight?  Oh its naturally curly. When I was in college, I’d straighten it often as compared to now. I’m trying to get enjoy my natural curly hair and I’m having fun trying out natural products.

2. Do you dye it yourself or go to a salon? First time I ever dyed/highlighted my hair was at a salon. However after that, I just dye my hair at home: a reddish brown shade

3. Do you do your own mani/pedi at home or go to a salon? To be honest, I’ve only had my nails done once at a salon. Never had a pedi at a salon either. That’s one of my goals before the year is over!

4. How often do you change your nail polish? Hmmmm, I’d say about every week or so but sometimes you just need that break and let your nails breath.

5. Do you polish your toes in the winter or just the summer? For me, I’m always updating my nail polish on my toes. I just don’t like having my toes bare lol.

6. How long does it take for you to do your makeup? Umm, it depends! It can range from 10-30 minutes. It depends on how glam I want my makeup and what I’m doing that day. On a simple day, a little bit of moisturizer, BB cream, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara and maybe a light lip balm depending on my mood.

7. What do you do first? Eyes or face? I’ve been trying to start applying the eyes first just because there’s always a tendency of fall out. So the days I remember, I’ll do the eyes first. However though, I would put moisturizer and primer first before anything.

8. Do you collect makeup or just buy what you need when you need it? Ooh that’s an effy one :p If I see a sale going on and I love that product, I’ll buy it just because it’s on sale! Either way, I’ll use it eventually! For example, I already have the L’Oreal Voluminous Paradise mascara but I saw it on sale, so I bought it. I don’t plan on buying beauty products without using it. I was at the mall recently and ran into a makeup store and they were selling their individual shadows for $5! I don’t know about you, but thats pretty cheap so I had to buy it. And guess what?! I still use it!

9. How often do you use false lashes? I’ve only worn false lashes probably 4 times in my life and 2 of those were when I was in beauty school! I’m more of a mascara kinda gal.

10. Do you do a full face of makeup everyday? No, not every day. Just the days I feel like it or have a get together with some friends.

11.  Do you wear makeup when you’re home alone or with family? Yes when I’m in the creative mood. Also if I have a get-together with extended family, I’ll wear makeup!

12. Will you leave the house without makeup? Sometimes yes and no. When I haven’t had a good night sleep, I’ll wear makeup. If I’m at work at 5am, 99% of the time, I won’t wear it.

13. How many high-end products do you have? Hmmmm…Does Urban Decay and Origins count? lol If yes, then I’ve got about 8. Urban Decay’s Naked Heat Palette, Origins Mattifying Moisturizer, Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz, Urban Decay Meltdown Makeup Remover, Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume and Kat von D liquid lipstick. I’ve even have 2 Betsy Johnson purses.

14. . Do you plan your OOTD every night or decide when you’re getting dressed?  For the most part, I plan my OOTD when I’m getting dressed. But when it comes to events or a date, then yes I’ll plan it!

15.  How often do you change your handbag? I’m actively growing my handbag collection but at the moment, I’ll change it about 4 times.

16. What’s your favorite skincare brand and/or makeup product at the moment? I’m loving the Bliss Triple Oxygen skincare line. Just a little tip, you can find expensive brand names at Marshalls and TJMaxx. I’m also loving the Urban Decay Naked Heat palette!

17. How often or when do you workout?  I’m probably the worst when it comes to working out. I try to go to the gym 2-3 times a week and if I can’t, then I’ll take a walk in my neighborhood.

18. . Left handed or right handed? Lefty! When I was studying at the university, they actually had seats for lefties.

19. How tall are you? I’m 5’0 🙂

20.  Do you speak any foreign languages? Yes I do speak Arabic. I understand it more than speaking it but you know what? At least it’s something. Just a little sneak peek: Ezayek means how are you in the feminine term. :p

21.  How many pets do you have? At the moment, I have one dog. He’s a daschound pitbull mix and such a sweetie pie!

22.  How often are you on WordPress? A few times a week ranging from once a week to 4 times a week.

23. Do you read comments posted on blogs? Yes of course, I love reading people’s opinions!

24.  Do you keep a list of products to try as you see other posts? Yes, from blog posts, Instagram and Youtube

25.  How did you come up with your blog name? Hmmm, I wanted something unique and something to match me so this is how I got it. Blooming since I love florals. Beauty because of course anything beauty wise! I included Bites becaise I’m such a foodie and plan on posting more food blog posts!

26.  What kind of camera do you use for your photographs? I actually use my iPhone 7 camera at the moment.

27. What photo apps do you use to edit photos? I use A Color Story on my phone and while I’m on the computer, I use Fotor and Picmonkey.

28. What time do you go to sleep and wake up? Oooh, this is a tough one. When I’m working, I’ll try to sleep by 10pm-11pm and wake up about 5am or 6am depending on what time I start. On my days off though, I’ll sleep late and attempt to wake up by 8am or 9am.

29. What’s your favorite color? Umm, I actually have 3: silver, black and pink.

30.  Do you swear? I try not to, but it happens.

31. What are you doing with the rest of your day? Run some errands and then off to a Book launch for “The Mask of Masculinity” by Lewis Howes! Extremely excited for that one!

Now first time ever to do this but I tag 5 other Beauty Bloggers to do this fun tag:

Arielle – With All My Affection

Target Fall Beauty Box

Happy Wednesday loves!

Have any of you noticed it’s almost impossible to grab a Target Beauty Box before it sells out?! Well miraculously, I was able to grab one this time for the Fall Beauty Box. I only paid $5 which is pretty good considering that you get samples and one or 2 full size products. I personally wanted this box just because there was more hair products for curly hair!

Skincare:

Pretty Animalz by Look Beauty: Panda Calming Facials Sheet Mask- it provides intensive hydration and calms skin with an aromatic lavender scent. I will definitely use this on my at home spa day. The first full size product!

St. Ives: Invigorating Apricot Scrub – it helps reduce breakouts before they occur while it’s made of natural exfoliants for a gentle and deep cleanse. I personally I don’t use this for my face. From what I’ve learned: Apricot seed is indeed very sharp so I only use this for my at-home pedicures.

Haircare:

Curls: Blueberry Leave In Conditioner – it’s a special formula that helps to hydrate, boost healthy hair growth and support strong keratin production.

SheaMoisture: Argan Oil & Argan Milk Shampoo and Blowout Creme – argan oil, shea butter and almond milk gently cleanses to tame frizz and improve shine. I’ve received this before and I’m glad I got another sample of it! The blowout creme works perfectly for blow drying curly hair.

Curls Unleashed: Curl Defining Creme – it’s a lasting moisture that treats even the most dry and damaged hair, leaving it soft, smooth and manageable.

Body Care:

Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Moisturizing Body Lotion – cocoa butter enriched with Vitamin E helps to smooth marks, heal, soften and tone skin. I’ve heard about this everywhere, however, it’s my first time trying it out!

Chapstick: Hydration in Blood Orange – an advanced 3-1 formula that helps moisturize, renew and transform for more youthful-looking lips. Another full size product!

There you have it loves! A review of the Target Fall Beauty Box! What do you think? Have any of you tried or received any Target beauty boxes?
